Jessica and Shannon’s wedding was gorgeous, just gorgeous! It was one of those amazing fall days where the weather was extra nice, and the fall leaves were extra bright. Jessica was such a beautiful bride – I still can’t get over that dress – the lace train is to die for! And those flowers – just too pretty! But the best part of the day was getting to spend it with Shannon and Jessica – two people who are totally head over heels in love with one another. I’m so glad you invited me to share your day with you – it was absolutely amazing!
Special thanks to Carly Hilo for all of her help and gorgeous work!
I’ll be honest, I’ve got a bit of an obsession with Holiday decorating. Every year I tend to go a bit overboard with the Christmas Crafting – with Pinterest it’s so hard not to! Last year it was the failed Ornament Chandelier (which was supposed to look like this) but instead ended up as a pile of broken glass and glitter on the living room floor. The year before it was DIY ornaments – which the cat immediately broke. So this year I declared – NO CRAFTING! Pinterest you will not lure me in again! This holiday season I’m opting for some simple decor using things in and around the house – A few mercury glasses, some greens from our garden, and a few sprigs of Holly.
It so super easy – but here are a few tips:
1. After you gather your greenery I recommend cutting off the leaves at the bottom of the stem to make sure it fits in the vase without getting crowded.
2. When picking greenery I went for the most vibrant colors – making sure to select stems with the most Holly Berries to brighten things up. I also incorporated a few pieces of this crazy white shrub that grows in our yard to contrast the red and green. If you don’t have any white shrubs in your yard you can always use spray paint (white with a coat of glitter spray paint always looks awesome). Arrange on your dining room table or mantle and you have instant holiday cheer!
Mercury glasses: Anthropologie (they are from last season, but West Elm has a few similar ones here) Antlers: here (side note all antlers in her shop are naturally shed) Gold Glitter Nail Polish: Essie
